Lo stesso tracciato fu poi usato in epoca borbonica per costruire la <strong>Regia Strada Postale<\/strong>, confermandone cos\u00ec l&#8217;importanza strategica. Con l&#8217;avvento e la costruzione delle strade moderne ( Autostrade e Statali) la via cadde in disuso e solo in alcune parti il tracciato \u00e8 usato o recuperato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il sentiero prende il via dal <strong>Sentiero delle Muse<\/strong>, in prossimit\u00e0 delle <strong>Grotte di Tremusa<\/strong>, attraversa la <strong>Fiumara di Favazzina<\/strong> e si inerpica, seguendo la comoda pista sterrata, fino a localit\u00e0 <strong>Tagli di Solano<\/strong>. Qui continua, attraverso un sentiero nel bosco di castagni, fino a innestarsi sul vecchio tracciato autostradale ed arriva sopra le alture di <strong>Bagnara Calabra<\/strong>. Si discende poi fino a <strong>Monte Cucuzzo<\/strong>, da cui si gode di una splendida visuale panoramica sia sulla costa viola che nella valle del <strong>torrente Sfalass\u00e0<\/strong>. Si discende a valle fino ad incontrare una centrale idroelettrica abbandonata e seguendo il torrente si arriva nella cittadina di <strong>Bagnara<\/strong>. Lungo il percorso che offre diversi spunti panoramici, sono visibili il caratteristico viadotto strallato Favazzina, e il <strong>viadotto Sfalass\u00e0<\/strong> , due opere ingegneristiche particolari e di alto pregio tecnologico, a servizio della rete autostradale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The <strong>Sentiero Dei Romani<\/strong> (Path of the Romans) takes its name because a section of the route overlaps with the remains of the important <strong>Via Popilia<\/strong>, a strategically significant consular road which, in the Roman era, allowed for the rapid movement of troops and communications. The same route was later used in the Bourbon era to construct the <strong>Regia Strada Postale<\/strong> (Royal Post Road), thus confirming its strategic importance. With the advent and construction of modern roads (Motorways and State Roads), the path fell into disuse and is only used or restored in some parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The path begins from the <strong>Sentiero delle Muse<\/strong> (Path of the Muses), near the <strong>Grotte di Tremusa<\/strong> (Tremusa Caves), crosses the <strong>Favazzina Stream<\/strong> (<em>Fiumara di Favazzina<\/em>), and climbs, following the comfortable dirt track, up to the location called <strong>Tagli di Solano<\/strong>. Here it continues, through a path in the chestnut woods, until it joins the old motorway route and arrives above the heights of <strong>Bagnara Calabra<\/strong>. It then descends to <strong>Monte Cucuzzo<\/strong>, from which one can enjoy a splendid panoramic view of both the &#8216;Violet Coast&#8217; (<em>Costa Viola<\/em>) and the Sfalass\u00e0 torrent valley. It descends into the valley until it meets an abandoned hydroelectric power plant, and by following the torrent, one arrives in the town of <strong>Bagnara<\/strong>.
